Today you have a heavy 1 rep Max Clean and Jerk session. This is a good opportunity to see where you are at and a good marking point to gauge improvements over the next few months. One of the major things I see with all athletes is that they start to bend their arms too early, cutting short their pull off the ground.. All of your power comes from this pull through your legs so we want to extend it as long as we can! Today when you are Cleaning, try to make a conscious effort to stretch up tall when you are pulling the bar off the ground and gather as much upwards momentum as you can before pulling yourself under the bar and catching. Technically, for your 1RM you should only really be able to pull the bar as high as your belly button, from there you should be dropping fast underneath it and using your legs to stand it up!
